Compulsory third party motor liability insurance is not a burden; it’s realistic assistance in the event of a traffic incident
All vehicles on Lithuania’s roads must be covered by compulsory civil liability insurance for drivers.
Even the most experienced and careful drivers are not invulnerable to mishaps. Accidents can be caused by a lack of sleep, fatigue, slippery road, or even an argument among the passengers. And when they do happen you may need to compensate injured parties for tens of thousands or perhaps even a few hundred thousand litas.
Compulsory insurance give the policyholder a clear-cut procedure for compensating damages inflicted on another vehicle or person.
Damage Compensation
If you cause a traffic incident and are covered by compulsory third party motor liability insurance, we will compensate losses incurred by third parties for up to:
- 2 500 000 EUR per person (2 500 EUR of this sum is for non-property damages);
- 500 000 EUR to property.
Insurance protection is valid throughout the European Union and in Green Card countries (Belarus, Russia, Turkey, etc.).
