Reflectors and Lights

The flow of traffic decreases once it gets dark outside, but this is when cyclists face even more danger on the road.

Cyclists are safer and more visible to drivers when they have the proper reflectors and lights mounted on their bicycles.

A bicycle should have the following reflectors and lights:

  • a red reflector on the back;
  • orange reflectors or other light-reflecting elements attached to the spokes of wheels on both sides;
  • a functioning headlight that gives off white light at the front and one that shines a red light at the back.

If a reflector has grown pale or damaged, replace it immediately.
