If you plan to leave your home unattended for any length of time, check all the doors and windows and turn off all taps and faucets.
When leaving your home for a longer period of time, don’t forget to:
- check if you closed all the windows, as well as balcony and basement doors;
- turn off all the taps and faucets;
- disconnect the water;
- unplug the television and other electrical appliances;
- ask good friends or relatives who live near you to stop by to look in on your home and empty the mailbox several times a week.
